Decent album overall. "Mujer Contra Mujer" and "Mangwane" both seem out of place on here, but kudos to Laura for trying something different.

Over My Heart is a great CD. The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye and Over You are my two favorite songs from this CD. It was a great addition to Laura's musical legacy. For whatever reason, again radio did not support the great talent Laura offered. The previous two songs along with DIdn't We Almost Win It All, Is There Anybody Here But Me, How Can I Help You To Say Goodbye and It's Been Hard Enough Getting Over You could have all been big AC hits.

I agree completely with everwood's comment, I like the same songs. I really like the video for "Didn't we almost win it all", as it shows great close ups of Laura's face and eyes, some of the best I have seen. (Forever Young is pretty good also, but not as well lit). I also like the shot of Laura driving the Pontiac Pariseanne convertible (it may be called a Bonneville in the US, GM does things like that.) I really enjoy "Over You", LB puts a lot of energy into that song, but I haven't quite figured out why she does such a good job with this particular song, since I thought she had a happy marriage (I guess she just really got into the right frame of mind for each song). She just sings it with such conviction, you swear she has been there herself.

One of my very favorite albums. My most favorite songs on there are Over My Heart, It's Been Hard Enough Getting Over You and Didn't We Almost Win It All. I love listening to Laura sing songs like these. I especially love the vibrato on It's Been Hard Enough Getting Over You at the key change during the verse " Turn around, and make the same mistaaaaaaaaaaaake....." Powerful, passionate, Laura at her best. I'm reminded of the interview she had with Robin Leech on the cooking network when she said that the most powerful emotion to sing about was pain, to reach out to the audience though that and watch as they sit there and cry. Mangwane is a bit out of place, but it is cute with the kids.

And her truth makes me stronger
Does she realize
I awake every morning
With her strength by my side

This world keeps on spinning
Only she stills my heart
She's my inspiration
She's my northern star
I don't count my possession
All I call mine I will give her completely
To the end of all time

I am not a hero
I am not an angel
I am just a man

Hello Bassman, glad to see you made it back!

This is my second favorite album next to Touch. My favorite songs are Sweet Hello, Over my Heart, Over You, and Didn't we Almost Win it All. Mangwane is interesting. "Mujer" is intriguing. It make me wonder if Laura actually spoke Spanish. Her pronunciations and inflections are pretty much flawless. I can't say that I speak fluent Spanish, but I did study it for two years in school, so know a bit about it. If she didn't speak it she sure did a helluva job learning that song! :text-bravo:

I have really mixed emotions about How Can I Help You Say Goodbye. Without a doubt it's a beautiful song, but it's so sad I usually skip it. Maybe because my first marriage ended in divorce. Maybe because I was at my mother's bedside when she died. Maybe both. Anyway the song is pretty much more than I can stand.

Sus amigo,
TF1

I LOVE this album and i love the pic of Laura on the front, she looks so peaceful and "one" with the water.

So many good songs on this album. I am not sure i can name a favorite of mine as i love them all :)

Didn't we almost win it all is a song very very close to my heart and describes someone and a situation from my past.

A fantastic album as with all Lauras albums, simply the best!

Yes, It's Probably My Fav Cover Art (That, And Self Control).
While It's Definetly Not My Favourite Album, It Has Its Good Points (Sweet Hello, Sad Goodbye, Over You Are 2 Very Good Songs).
It's Not The Most Played CD In My LB Collection, It Does Get The Occasional Listen (Hold Me, And Laura Branigan Have Basically Melted From Overuse!) HaHa!

Gets A 3 Out Of 5 For Me!

Oh Yeah, I Forgot To Mention That I Thought That She Took A Great Stab At Songwriting! Especially Over You, I Used To Think That Song Was A Tad Repetitive, But Know I've Listened To It Quite A Few Times, It Certainly Has Grown On Me!

Oh Yeah, There's An "Edit" Button, Isn't There, Oops!
