They called it: "Gloria 2004" and "Self Control". Ears hurts from listening to this. I know, people listen to techno, dubstep etc. but those remixes are awful. What do you think about them?

Hi,

I think it's a case of you either like the style of remix or not. What is outstanding is the fact that Laura went back in the studio to re-record the vocals for these releases and doing so 20+ years after the original tracks were recorded, they demonstrate that her voice only got better as time progressed, and in fact, she still "had it" in abundance vocally.

In my opinion, her voice is amazing, but music... No comment.

Hi guys,
I can only confirm your statements. I do not like them, but the vocals were ok.
IMHO the best results in remixing still got Jack White with "The Lucky One", "Satisfaction" or "Hold Me Vocal extended".
I mean this songs were good enough to play them even now just replacing the drum line to a "fresh" one.
Gloria - this could be mixed very well for a disco hit, but Self Control - this is a lot of work to keep the character of the song and remix it at once.
It is not only about changing the style of the drum-base line to disco-techno. I mean i.e. "Satisfaction" the remixed song had a kick and
synthesizer line arranged like the stuff on radio today but with help of the technic of the 80's - You can imagine the effort of playing at 4 or more different
synths and then remix all this stuff - not like today getting some patterns (all the same in all songs) by just pressing a button. That is why the songs
are so crappy. But like I said this is only my opinion.

My God, the worst thing in it is that awful sound effect in word "gloria" at polish it sounds like "głoria". This is awful!
