There have been amazing deluxe remasters done by Edsel Records recently for other artists' discographies including Belinda Carlisle (Heaven on Earth) and Bananarama (True Confessions), and I was wondering if Laura's albums could possibly follow suit? Just an idea of course and I don't know how realistic it would be, however the Bananarama ones have been licenced though Rhino/Warner like Laura's would be.

We all know how unprofessionally Gold Legion have handled the 'Branigan' and 'Self Control' remasters (especially Branigan!) so Edsel would be a better option for Laura's other albums, if they were to be remastered at some point. Plus the Edsel releases are so extensive including 2CDs (one for the original album and a second for single edits, remixes, b-sides, demos and rarities) and a DVD with the music videos, interviews and live performances.

Wondering what others think about the idea? :music-listening:

For fun I've come up with a tracklist for what the 'Laura Branigan' album could be like. The others probably wouldn't have a DVD.

CD1: original album remastered

1. Moonlight on Water (Edit)
2. Turn the Beat Around (Radio Edit)
3. Moonlight on Water (Radio Remix)
4. Moonlight on Water (12" Mix)
5. Turn the Beat Around (Popcussion Mix)
6. Turn the Beat Around (Don & Vic Mix)
7. Turn the Beat Around (Club House Mix)
8. Turn the Beat Around (The Branipella)
9. Tokio (Bonus Track)
10. Heart of Me (Bonus Track)
11. Heart of Me (Club Mix) (Bonus Track)
12. Heart of Me (Centory Remix) (Bonus Track)

DVD: "Laura Branigan in Concert" (SRO concert series, 1990 'Laura Branigan' tour)

the Edel issues generally have the promo videos and some live tv performances so it would be possible to have a DVD on all issues.
My idea for the reissue of Hold Me would be:
Original album remastered
Spanish Eddie (Extended Remix)
Tenderness (Extended Remix)
Hold Me (7" Remix)
Hold Me (12" Remix)
Maybe Tonight (7" Remix)
Maybe Tonight (12" Remix)
plus some unreleased mixes and instrumentals
Spanish Eddie
Maybe tonight
live tv versions

for Touch:
original album remastered
Statue in the Rain
Come Into My Life
Believe In Me
Your Love

Shattered Glass (12" Mix)
Power of Love (Edit)
Spirit of Love (Edit)
Spirit of Love (Remix)
Cry Wolf (Edit)
Name Game (Edit)
unreleased mixes, especially from the PWL sessions

Shattered Glass
Cry Wolf
Your Love
live versions
