Well everyone here's my infamous tattoo! Thank you Kathy for posting it! Since I had trouble on my own posting it!! lol!! Thank you Vince for getting everything set up,it's much appreciated. And thank you Alli for inquiring about it also. :D I've been meaning to post it in the past but life happens. I sit here listening to my fave cd by Laura "Over My Heart" and looking through the scrapebook of Laura articles and pictures that I have. Memories of Laura come flooding through. Her voice I hear in my mind like I just saw her yesterday and I close my eyes and I see her standing in front of me. Telling me,"Jen, will you stand up straight!", her looking at me and waving her finger at me. So many memories and I cherish them all, tears start to swell up. Thank you my friend for all the memories! Sorry for going off track everyone. Here's the story about my tattoo.

I got the tattoo done when I saw it at shop in Ct. went there to get one special for Laura, her music touched me right down to my soul. So I came across the rose with the musical notes and said that was it and when it was done I added LB by the stem. Laura was just starting to perform again in the early 2000's. So she would play Mohegan Sun Casino in Ct. at the Wolf's Den for free shows and of course I was there at every show I had to. Then I would find out where she was playing after that from a friend who had ties to Laura and I was there at every show. I'm so glad that I lived in Ma. at the time, so I could go and see her. Anyways, for my vacation in 2002, I followed Laura to Hershey Park and to the New York State fair. It was at Hershey Park that she signed my arm. I showed her my tattoo she loved it and I asked her to sign my arm, she kinda looked at me funny when I asked her but she did anyways. I was so happy!! I thought to myself when I get back home going to have it tattooed on. So I was careful when I showered not to wash my arm etc. The following day I went to a tattoo parlor and asked him to tattoo her signature on and he did! I first showed it to her a few days after when she played at the New York State fair. At the meet n greet after the shows, I stood in line waiting. When it was my turn I rolled up my sleeve and showed her my tattoo and what I did. She was like OMG!! that is so cool. She really liked it.I also had her sign a license plate that I had got done. I had that license plate on my car till a few months ago, for fear of losing it etc. So that's my story of my tattoo!! I'm very proud of it and it's a precious memory that will forever be with me.
Laura was a special person in my life and she has a place in my heart next to my mom who also passed. To this day when people ask me "How did you become friends etc" it's so hard to pinpoint when it happened but I never ever in a million years, ever imagined befriended my idol, that I grew up listening to back then. Laura's music has touched me right down to my soul and will continue to. I was still in awe every time I saw Laura, I would get all nervous even though we knew each other. I'm so thankful that I attended her last show in Boston. Those last memories and her last words to me are always with me. I remember after her sound check, she was at her car and I was standing by her and I scratched my arm and the tattoo showed and she grabbed my arm, looked at it and said "Jen, How did you ever keep that on all this time" I smiled and said I had it tattooed on, she started to laugh and said "that's right", and it's so cool. She just had this big smile on her face looking at it and me, then she said to me "Stand up straight Jen" I did lol! From those meetings with Laura I befriended Kathy and Vince. Good people they are. Thank you Kathy and Vince for all that you do, keeping Laura's memory alive!!! I know that she's looking down with a big smile. And to you my friend Laura! You are so missed by me, you were my light in times of darkness. Thank you for all the memories. Now " I Know You By Heart"

Wow! that is a fantastic tatt....what a great idea. I'm so jealous... it sounds like you had an amazing connection with Laura. You're so lucky. I can't think of a better way to personally pay tribute to Laura than a tatt of her autograph. And along with the words 'I love you' aswell! ...amazing...fantastic...

Thanks for the accompanying story...it was great to read how the tattoo came about. You have an amazing story to tell. I hope that you make it to the SOL weekend Jen, would love to hear more and see that tatt close up!

Cheers, Alli :D

PS. Thanks to K&V for helping with the pic.

Well, I don't think I can match the tattoo (though I did think up one, see other post) but I have been working on one of our local radio stations. It has morphed into a pretty decent 80's station, but I've never heard any Laura  . I PMed one of the DJ on their website the other day, but haven't gotten an e-mail reply. I'm going by the studio next week and tell 'em I WANT TO HEAR LAURA #$%#$ IT! :P Heck, I'll even buy some CD's if they'll play them. One thing I'm afraid of is I think it's a feed from somewhere else (I think they have a station in Austin) or a network or some such. Anyway I'm going to give it a try.

LB4EVER!

Libraries.
I was so excited it finally came Reality! Today, I put out my branches copy where I work, for patrons at my Library... and I swear it went right out! I was putting it out in the New Releases of our CD's and a lady with her kids said do you have any Good New Releases your putting out? I said this one here, LB's Essentials is Awesome! She is my fav't singer of All time. She sings with so much power of Voice and Emotion, it gave me goosebumps just talking about it. She said I saw that one and was thinking of taking it out! I had put it in the New Rleases, 1st of my Big Stack of Cd's I was putting out for Circulation. I said yah it's great! She said, yah I'm going to take that one for sure and within a minute or two it went right out.
I said it has "Shattered Glass" it was my late friend Danny's Fav't Laura song! I said he passed away in April at 39. He would have been 40 on August 3rd just 5 days ago. She said I'm very sorry you lost your friend and seemed sad for me, very Sincere.
When I bought the Laura Essentials myself, to have it Catalogued in the Erie County Library System for My Branch. Downtown Buffalo, at the Main Library, They must have been reminded of how good she was/is ...because they decided to Purchase a Copy for Circulation as well! I saw that on the webpage for the Libraries at www.buffalolib.org that the CD was On Order, Being Aquired By the Libray...I was just so excited by this! T
here are many Branches throughout Western NY and any one can Request either of the 2 copies and have it sent out for pick-up at their Local Library Branch within the System to enjoy! Keeping her Music and Legacy Alive for so many to enjoy and pass on to their friends, family members and loved ones! This makes me so happy and so proud.!I want everyone to hear her Music and just how awesome she is!! Just a small part in Keeping the Legacy Alive ...Mitch D. (mitchellovelaura) 08-08-08!!

As I may have mentioned, I play Laura CD's ad nauseum at work (at least to my young co-workers). Recently I've been bringing my DW's laptop on the weekends and burning CD's of my diverse collection for my co-workers. One teenage co-worker said her dad wanted a CD of Laura as long as it had "Gloria"

Heh heh heh! Munch on this hot dog and beer while I cook the prime rib and chill the Dom Perignon.

Being confined to 80 min. more or less, I made him one of Best of Branigan with 4 or 5 from "Touch".

Hopefully that will be enough to get him hooked.
